| New Quest for Saga |
| 2012.01.19 08:27:08 | |
|
Spirit of Adventure will be retiring from service in early May 2012, after her final farewell voyage from Limassol to Civitavecchia departing 17 April. As Spirit of Adventure retires, Saga Pearl (as she is currently known) will be renamed "Quest for Adventure" and will continue to offer the more adventurous cruise itineraries for guests. With this change in the fleet, SAGA Cruises have effectively changed their branding so that all ships will be listed under the one SAGA umbrella - and "Spirit of Adventure Cruises" will no longer exist as a brand name. SAGA will now offer guests a choice of "Classic Cruising" and "Adventure Cruising" holiday options. CLASSIC CRUISING: Saga Sapphire or Saga Ruby ADVENTURE CRUISING: Quest For Adventure All 3 ships, sailing under the SAGA name from May 2012, will be exclusively for the over 50's market - with at least one guest needing to be 50 years or older - and their travelling companion should be 40 yrs or older for Saga Ruby or Saga Sapphire cruises - or 21 yrs or older for Quest for Adventure cruises. All ships will have onboard gratuities included in the fare with complimentary shuttle buses to the town centre (where possible in ports where the ship is berthed more than 500m away). Cruises on "Quest For Adventure" will also offer guests a full programme of lectures and presentations and a choice of tailor made excursions in up to 5 ports of call, depending on the length of the cruise. | Celebrity Century - November 2011 |

Hi Julie Hogben here, I am the newly appointed Manager at Bicton Travel, I have just recently returned from a wonderful cruise onboard Celebrity Century travelling from Sydney to Wellington, along with my colleague Jessica Da Luz from our Cruisefinder office. I found Celebrity well and truly lived up to their tagline “Modern Luxury”, with quality food, service and modern facilities. With the difference in age, Jess and I found there was so much to offer both of our needs. We had so much fun exploring the ship, meeting the staff from all over the world, learning about the ports of call from Celebrity’s onboard Naturalist who had such a quirky sense of humour. We frequented the Gym and found the equipment to be the latest and most up to date. The staff where very experienced and offered presentations on all types of health and good living subjects. Our cabin was well appointed with a warm and inviting feeling with rounded beds to give extra room to easily walk around. The bathroom was a good size, rectangle shaped shower and quite roomy. The Martini Bar is a great place to gather for pre-dinner drinks or a night cap. On our last evening we decided to make it memorable and we reserved a table at the elegant Murano Restaurant, there is a surcharge for this, but definitely worth it. The choices of food and service were amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening, the staff were very attentive and met every possible need. The shore excursions were varied and showcased the best each port had to offer. Security and Safety were high on the agenda and this was carried out scrupulously. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my time cruising with Celebrity and would recommend anyone wanting to experience great service, food on a modern and welcoming ship. | Luxury Bali |

Phil here, have just returned from a beautiful Bali getaway. Wow has Bali changed. The resort and dining options now are truly world class and with relatively short direct flights from all major gateways it makes for a fabulous choice for romantics/ honeymooners/food lovers alike for a quick getaway or an extended break. I stayed at The Samaya in Seminyak which is a beautiful all-villa beachfront boutique resort with a fabulous restaurant and gracious attentive staff. I sampled some fantastic restaurants in the area including Sarong, Metis, Ku De Ta, Lilin at Potato Head, Cocoon and Sardine - all fantastic. Also inspected some other stunning resorts. Alila Villas Soori is about 45 mins north of Seminyak right on the beach and great for a peaceful secluded getaway, the 10 Bedroom Villa was I think THE most spectacular accommodation I have seen to date and the spa suites were also some of the nicest I have seen. Uluwatu is the up and coming new resort area with most being perched on the cliff top offering 180 degree ocean views from their elevated positions. Stayed at Banyan Tree in a 1 Bedroom Cliff Edge Pool Villa - wow! Also checked out the Bulgari Resort and Alila Villas Uluwatu which both also definitely had the wow factor. I would be happy to help you plan your luxury Bali break! Phil Tags: Hits: 75 | Read more... |
